If you are an author with a blog, or contributing articles to other people’s blogs, you already might be familiar with something called “Author Box.”

An “Author Box” is a box at the bottom of your blog posts that gives some biographical information about you, the author, of your WordPress website. It’s like having an “About Us” on every blog post, or page you publish on your website. It uses the information you put into your WordPress Profile (
https://codex.wordpress.org/Users_Your_Profile_Screen) for the text, and the picture you have setup with your Gravatar Account (read more about Gravatar at http://www.websitecreationworkshop.com/blog/wordpress-tips/what-is-a-gravatar-picture/). It’s an easy way to get more exposure for yourself, your business, and your brand!

There are two ways to get an “Author Box” to show up on your WordPress website: have a theme that incorporates an Author Box, or use a plugin.

The StudioPress WordPress theme I’m using for my blog (http://www.thebestthemes.com/studiopress/) has a built-in author box function. But even if your WordPress theme doesn’t offer an author box, you can easily add one by using a plugin. Here are some Author Box Plugins that you might want to check out from WordPress.org:

Some plugins also lets you add your social media links in your profile as well, making it easy for your readers to connect with you.

And if you run a ‘multi-author’ website, this comes in really handy to showcase your authors on your site!
